Free horse racing picks for Calder - May 12, 2008.

Race #2
We’ve got a 1 mile 10,000s Allowance with a short field of 6 but any of them look capable. At first glance it is hard to make an argument against #4 Shucks whose trainer, Gerald M. Procino is off to an impress career as of 2008. This horse seems to love to set the pace and never look back. As of it’s previous ten races Shucks has never run slower than an 58 beyer. Among others to set the pace and finish strong we must look at the #5 All About Heart and the #6 Activator. From my analysis I would set up something along the lines of this: 1-4-6 / 1-4-5-6 / 1-4-5-6-2. You can chop that up however you’d like for exacta and trifecta betting, though. Like I said, just about any horse is capable but if I had to completely eliminate one of them it would be #3 Private Alert who hasn’t finished above 4th in any of it’s previous 10th starts.

Race #5
WPS: #8 Princess Nikki Also, exacta box 8-2-3

Race 1 —————————
1st Place: #2 Hay Cheif
2nd Place: #5 Wheaton’s Aly Cat
3rd Place: #3 Natural Access
Analysis: Hay Cheif has ran for much bigger numbers than this and typically finished within the top five of those races. With this big of a drop down, I don’t forsee him running into much trouble here.

Race 2 —————————
1st Place: #2 Tune Up The Band
2nd Place: #6 Wanna Secret
3rd Place: #5 Relentless Barbara
Analysis: Tune Up The Band has missed the top three only once in his previous seventh races. He’s coming out of Tampa and should be tough. Wanna Secret hasn’t raced since February but has a solid speed rating in previous six outings, will he be as solid today after this short layoff? He is being rode by M.R. Cruz who seems to do to fairly well at Calder. Relentless Barbara is coming from a leaderboard trainer at Calder and has recently come off solid races at Tampa, which is obviously a good thing.

Race 3 —————————
1st Place: #2 Packer
