Posting a quick selection a friend told me about! Race #5:
9 / 4-6-7 / 4-6-7
Keep an eye out on the weather for tomorrow, I ran all races as if it would be completely dry!
Race 1 ————————-
Trifecta: 8 / 1-6-7 / All
#8 Argentina is coming off of a layoff but with this big of a class drop, I don’t see how he’s not in this. When you hardly ever finish out of the top 3 in G1/G2 races, well, it’s like an NBA player going back to high school hoops.
Race 2 ————————-
#1A Sherine
You know how much I just love Maiden races with nothing to work with… Anyhoo, this horse has solid training times and a great trainer to boot.
Race 3 ————————-
Trifecta: 2-3-4 / 2-3-4 / 2-3-4-6
Race 4 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-2-3 / 1-2-3 / 1-2-3-5
Haven’t tried Ellis Park yet, but hopefully EP will treat me well! As for my first time looking everything over, this is truly a tough card.
Race 1 ————————-
Trifecta Box: 2-6-7
Race 2 ————————-
Trifecta: 3-4 / 3-4-6-7 / 3-4-6-7
Race 3 ————————-
Trifecta: 5-7 / 5-6-7 / 3-4-5-6-7
Will the layoffs of my two chalk front runners #5 Island N Abreeze and #6 Good and Fast play a role here? I sure hope not.
Race 4 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-3-7 / 1-3-7 / 1-3-4-7
The #5 Yonatowka is on a straight climb with his Beyer, so if you don’t mind adding a little bit more on your ticket, definitely use him.
Race 5 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-5 / 1-2-5-6 / 1-2-5-6
Save your money and stay out of this race. It’s a toughy.
Race 6 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-5-9 / 1-5-9 / 1-5-9-12
Race 7 ————————-
Trifecta: 4-5-6 / 4-5-6 / 4-5-6-8
Race 8 ————————-
Trifecta: 2-6-7 / 2-6-7 / 2-5-6-7
The #2 D’oro Doll just posted his best beyer and what do you know, it was his first time running a mile.
Race 9 ————————-
Trifecta: 2-4-12 / 2-4-12 / 2-4-5-12
I haven’t played this track as of present, so let’s get things going. Here’s hoping I have a great first “trip” out to Fairmount.
Race 1 ————————-
Trifecta: 2-3-5 / 2-3-5 / All
Don’t see much here to interfere, but nothing is ever a sure thing. Exacta box the 2-3-5 as well.
Race 2 ————————-
#2 Jest Guessing
Race 3 ————————-
Close your eyes and pick a horse. Seriously.
Race 4 ————————-
Trifecta Box: 1-2-5
Race 5 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-4-7 / 1-4-7 / 1-3-4-7
Race 1 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-8 / 1-2-3-8 / 1-2-3-8
This is a race where the numbers don’t help you out too much, but one thing to bank on is the #8 Lady Lez’s huge class drop into this.
Race 2 ————————-
Trifecta: 6-7-8 / 6-7-8 / 4-6-7-8
Race 3 ————————-
$1 Trifecta: 3-8 / 1-3-5-8 / 1-3-5-6-7
It will be fun to see how this plays out as you have plenty of contenders who have ran at Churchill and Tampa- and you gotta love those kinds of horses when they suddenly show up at River… except for when you have like 5 of them in the same race- let alone a maiden special. The #5 Restore the Roar has his best two speed figures when the distance is over a mile, so this may suit him well tomorrow. And where did that 54 figure come from on the #6 Indurain’s most recent race? Speaking of that race, take a look at who was riding him and will be tomorrow as well- none other than Mr. Perry Ouzts.
Race 4 ————————-
$1 Trifecta: 1-8 / 1-6-7-8 / 1-3-6-7-8
At the beginning of “running my numbers” for this race, the #2 Check Bouncer was one of my top key horses, however that was until I realized that he is atrocious at this distance (and the same for the #10 A Rizzi Rueben) so if one of those finish, I’ll throw on the dunce cap. Other than that I had a hard time with this race… I mean you could be absolutely fine just betting chalk but I certainly think there will be plenty of other potential runners. I love the #8 Total Return and with a morning line of 12-1, I really hope he can pull it off despite what is previous finishes say. The #7 Kentucky Swagger layoff is frightening and his recent trains haven’t been spectacular either. With that said, this is River Downs and he still outclasses plenty of other horses in this field.
Race 5 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-5 / 1-2-5 / All
Wide open.
Race 6 ————————-
Trifecta: 5-11 / 3-7-5-11 / 3-7-5-11
#5 Archie B - has plenty of finishes at Churchill and for similar stakes… and we all know how much you should love strong CD horses coming to River. If the #11 Gold Commander One is scratched, fill in the #7 in his spot.
Race 7 ————————-
$1 Trifecta: 1-6 / 1-3-5-6-7 / 1-3-5-6-7
If anything I would stay out of this race entirely as I expect there to be no value. I could easily see #5 Big Charlie have a Big Race. Important to notice the #4 Elmont’s HUGE jumps from his previous three races. You have to believe trainer, Michael A Tammaro certainly sees something with this horse to bring it straight out of maiden’s and into this one. So if you want to splash around, by all means use the #4 & #5
Race 8 ————————-
Trifecta: 1A-4-7 / 1A-4-7 / 1A-3-4-7
Race 1 ————————-
I don’t know about anyone else, but I hate trying to handicap maiden races, at least when it comes to the lower sized maiden stakes where the horses are sporadic and jumpy. BUT, if you had to twist my arm, I’d exacta box the #1 Libby’s Moment with the #2 Memory Loss. We’ll see if that bet actually hold true though, please comment if you feel you’re more capable or have some further insight!
Race 2 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-3 / 1-2-3-6 / 1-2-3-6
Race 1 ————————-
Trifecta: 4 / 1-2-5 / All
#4 Goodman’s girl has improved slowly but surely each time out and will definitely be in this. The other horses do have more racing experience however, but the numbers (usually) don’t lie. Nonetheless, I hate trying to handicap maiden races, haha.
Race 2 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-8 / 1-2-8 / 1-2-3-6-8
Plenty of good horses and there may be some good value here tomorrow. This one is a toughy!
Race 3 ————————-
Trifecta: 3-4 / 3-4-6 / 3-4-5-6
Interesting to note that #6 Czech the Dox has been on a straight climb upward within regards to his speed figures, but his most recent race of a $15,000 claimer, he threw his best number and still finished 5th. Is this a horse that doesn’t want to win or is a class drop to $10,000 a perfect fit? I’m sticking with the #4 Genie On the Move as my pick for this race. He’s been in some big Allowance races and should be in the run for the money here. Philly is tough today!
Race 4 ————————-
Trifecta: 2-3-4 / 2-3-4 / 2-3-4-6
Race 5 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-5 / 1-2-5 / All
I wouldn’t expect too much value in this one. I can’t really argue with the fourth place finish of the #5 Tale of the Diva in a $60,000 stake race either.
Race 6 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-2-3 / 1-2-3 / 1-2-3-4
This is an easy race to break things down into picking a winner, but it’s going to be the potential second and more than likely third place horses that will mess up exotics.
Race 7 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-2-4 / 1-2-4-5 / 1-2-4-5-6
I realize that this is a somewhat expensive bet, so if you would like to play a little bit on the cheaper side, possibly exacta box any three of those horses or a tri box as well. Have I mentioned how much I’m not liking Philly’s races today?
Race 8 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-4-7 / 1-4-7 / 1-3-4-7
The #1 Knight in Flight is a “jumpy” horse in my mind. Previous trainer Martin D. Wolfson must have certainly thought something good of him though after entering him into a G3 event where he ran 8th (respectively, I think). This is a horse that could straight up win, or run dead last. The #7 Favalora jumped out at me when I looked at his highest beyer (94) which was ran at Philly in a race which was more or less the same as this one tomorrow (OC 32k/N4X - Jan-16-07), nonetheless he ran 2nd and was followed two lengths behind by #2 Stormy Price.
Race 9 ————————-
#4 Artic Thunder
Morning line has this horse at 15-1 and according to the way I run numbers, he certainly has a shot. Consider it my “longshot” pick of the day at Philly. Best of luck to everyone in tomorrow’s races.
Race 2 ————————-
#2 To The Crowd
Trifecta: 2 / 6-7-8 / 6-7-8
Race 3 ————————-
Trifecta: 1-9 / 1-5-7-9 / 1-5-7-9
Race 4 ————————-
Trifecta: 5-7 / 1-5-6-7 / 1-5-6-7
I love the #6 Maribels Graygirl who was performing mediocre in Tampa and then jumped over to Philly and won nicely.
Race 5 ————————-
Trifecta: 2-4-5 / 2-4-5 / 2-3-4-5
Not the easiest race, I’ll tell you that.
